So finally pinned my lovely hubby to be down for some wedding reception hunting and true to form the heavens opened. All the gorgeous gardens etc look sad and droopy if very very green!
Went to look at a beautiful stately home owned by Strathclyde Uni called Ross Priory already and fell in love with it's rambling gardens and proximity to Loch Lomond.(The view out over the water is stunning!)
Off this evening after work to look at somewhere super close by called Rosslea Hotel! It is again a sort of stately home type building but is massively handy for the chapel and getting the relatives accomadated.
Will come back and let you know soon (ie when I remember as im horribly lazy with this!)

Apologies
Hello again!'So soon?' I hear you say!
Well yes...mainly because I am a bit of a newbie to the blogging thing and think maybe I should have explained a little more about me and the blog before launching headfirst into a cake ramble!heehee
So here goes, Im a 21yr old Scottish bride-to-be, living with my chef of a fiance in a 2 bedroom flat we just moved into 3 days ago!I love vintage goodies (check out Miss Lottie Lou's blog for all sorts of delightful clothes) and so plan to have a vintage-y twist to my wedding.
We are hugely excited to be getting married but hubby-to-be works massive amounts of hours and I don't always have someone about to bounce ideas off so I will be posting lots of plans, ideas and probably some minor bridezilla moments on here for your amusement and feedback!

Cakes
So, we were unsure of what route to go down while considering wedding cakes - there is so many things to consider that we hadn't thought of previously!
There is tradition (hubby to be is catholic and we were told to keep the top tier for the first christening), preference (I loathe fruit cake with a passion), and style (we wanted our cake to be something that had the 'Wow' factor.
Eventually while doing some brainstorming with my mother I had a bit of a 'light bulb' moment - Cupcakes! I thought maybe something like in this link below, but in our chosen colour scheme - cream cakes with bottle green ribbon or cases.
Anyways, i think that is enough about cakes for today...I've got a wedding dress to fit into!xx
